The strengthening of the synergies between the respective activities and the increase of commercial outlets are the objectives of the agreement signed today by Alessandro Profumo, CEO of Leonardo S.p.A. and Nicola Latorre, Director General of the Defense Industries Agency (AID).

The agreement will increase the already consolidated harmony between Leonardo and Agenzia Industrie Difesa. In this sense, the collaboration will substantiate the commitment of the Military Establishments entrusted to the management of AID, increasing the efficiency of the industrial capabilities for the valorization of the armament material.

The Director General of AID, Nicola Latorre, stressed that “The signing of the cooperation agreement with Leonardo is an important result, which allows to further develop our industrial capabilities. The convergence of reciprocal activities in the expansion of commercial outlets to third countries brings this agreement to be an added value for the entire defense sector.”

The text signed at Leonardo’s headquarters, in fact, will enable cooperation in the sale of systems to third countries, consolidating the understanding of the Italian industry with foreign countries, promoting maximum mutual involvement.

“The cooperation agreement signed today allows us to put Leonardo’s competences at the service of the rationalization of the Defence industrial capacity”, said Leonardo’s CEO, Alessandro Profumo “The new commercial synergies will allow us to strengthen our partnership with AID, consolidating the position of the Italian industry in the world and opening to new, interesting opportunities”.
