Esercitazione congiunta Guardia Costiera – US Coast Guard

Il cutter Hamilton della Classe Legend dell’US Coast Guard ed il pattugliatore d’altura (OPV) Ubaldo Diciotti della classe Dattilo della Guardia Costiera hanno condotto una esercitazione di ricerca e soccorso ed recupero tramite elicottero.

L’esercitazione si è svolta nel Mar Mediterraneo dove il cutter della USCG è recentemente entrato a supporto delle operazioni della Sesta Flotta.

Il cutter della classe Legend USCGC Hamilton (WMSL 753) con i cutter della classe Sentinel USCGC Charles Moulthrope (WPC 1141) e USCGC Robert Goldman (WPC 1142) hanno lasciato Porto Rico i primi giorni di aprile.

L’ Hamilton ha scortando i cutter della classe Sentinel attraverso l’Atlantico mentre gli equipaggi del Moulthrope e del Goldman hanno poi continuato il loro nuovo porto di casa a Manama, Bahrain. La pianificazione della scorta e del dispiegamento è iniziata lo scorso anno per garantire una trasferimenti regolare dei cutter della classe Sentinel, sostituendo le navi di classe Island attualmente in funzione sotto il comando della Quinta Flotta della Marina degli Stati Uniti.
