Rifornimento in volo F-35B da F/A-18 dell'USN sul Pacifico

210826-N-NO250-1050 PHILIPPINE SEA (August 26, 2021) Two F-35B Lightning II from Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 211, embarked on the Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08), and an F/A-18E Super Hornet, assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 192, embarked on aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), conduct mid-air refueling in support of joint interoperability flights between Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group (VINCSG) and U.K. Carrier Strike Group (CSG-21), Aug. 26, 2021. Quattro F-35B del Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 211, attualmente imbarcati sulla portaerei inglese HMS Queen Elizabeth, hanno effettuato esercitazioni congiunte con due F/A-18E Super Hornet dell’U.S. Navy della portaerei USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70).

Durante le manovre aeree due F-35B hanno ricevuto combustibile da parte del Super Hornet effettuando quindi un rifornimento “buddy to buddy”.

L’evento è servito per dimostrare l’interoperabilità tra il Carl Vinson Strike Group, attualmente dispiegato nella zona di competenza della Settima Flotta, e l’U.K. Carrier Strike Group (CSG-21).
