As part of the NATO exercise “Neptune Strike”, the Navy’s Sirio-class patrol vessel Orione also took part in the operations.
An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter from Helicopter Combat Squadron (HSC) 11 “Dragonslayers” carrying an EODMU (Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit) 2 performs a “fast-rope” on the flight deck of the patrol vessel Orione.
EODMU 2 is based at Joint Expeditionary Base – Little Creek, Virginia and is tasked with identifying, securing and neutralising explosive devices, both in the US and abroad, including conventional, nuclear, chemical, biological and improvised explosive devices.
